Intent upon keeping Rapunzel forever, the sorceress shut her up in a high, high tower in a forest. She shut Rapunzel up in it so there was no way for her to get out. The sorceress left neither stairs nor a door. The biggest change to the Lounge was the front door and staircase that was added to the tower during the previous century. Throughout the castle, the theme of angels and cherubs was extensively used to symbolise the angelic desire of Rapunzel to one day escape the confines of the tower and be free.
“The size of the fireplace will ensure that even the coldest Clarens night is comfortable, cosy and warm.”
This theme was also used in the formal lounge area. Entering the room, the guest is first struck by the impressive and very dramatic fireplace adorned with cherubs in an antique gold finish. The size of the fireplace will ensure that even the coldest Clarens night is comfortable, cosy and warm.
“The staircase can truly be described as an outstanding work of art. Delicate roses handmade from steel lazily curl their way to the floors above. It is as if a single drop of water will magically bring the pedals to life. A local artist, Petro Uys (082-775 4764; firstname.lastname@example.org), manufactured the staircase on site.”
“The lounge is equipped with a small library and games to provide entertainment during those long, lazy days.”
The lounge suite was custom designed to fit the octagonal shape of the room and will ensure many hours of comfortable relaxation.
”He saw again, and Dame Gothel’s promise of ever-lasting misery and grief died there, proving powerless to restrain the celebration that followed.”
Above the fireplace a huge painting of the prince and his beloved Rapunzel leaving the church on their wedding day provides a glimpse of the “celebration that followed”. This painting is reflected in a heavily gilded mirror on the opposite wall, again decorated with the ever-present cherubs.
